Nepal - Production
I create every weaving graph myself which is then sent to our mill. They print it out in black and white and hand paint it as shown here to differentiate between each colour position. Each square on the paper represents a knot. The graph is then attached to the loom and the immensely skilled weavers hand knot each pixel/square by hand.

I feel so lucky to do something I love so much and honoured to work with such a skilled and amazing team in Nepal.

Dyeing - Production
Getting the colour just right. Once matched, the yarn will be dried and balled ready for weaving a new rug!

Splash - Production
Stretching a custom rug in our Splash design - one of the final processes after washing and drying that goes into each of our hand made rugs.

Imprint - Inspiration
The inspiration behind our Imprint rug. Damp seeped into one of my old sketchbooks full of photos that I’d taken during the pre-digital era. After some initial dismay, I was excited to see that the images created by the wet paper layering and tearing from the damp created even nicer images and a whole bunch of new rug ideas!
